I've decided to upload one of the shots from out first Film Friday piece since the final film is taking so long. We've only color and sound to finish up, with maybe some pickups to shoot as well, but I hope to have it done in a week or two. It'll be short and sweet, if all goes well.
This film Friday was both a test of our compositing capabilities with smoke, debris, and bodies as well as a dialogue exercise, filming dialogue, that is. All in all I'm very happy with what the results are looking like and I can't wait to share the whole piece once it's finished.
Another Film Friday piece that's in production is a film that we started two weeks ago called Body, which is based very firmly on a poem written by Jacob Bullard. Jacob Bullard is the fellow with the hat who manages not to go airborne in the shot above. He's been working with me very closely on the film Friday shoots and this Film Friday is a music piece that will be created out of studio footage collected of Jacob Bullard and band recording 3 new songs for an upcoming album. He has some websites that I'll post below. Even as I right this I am in Holland, Michigan, the location of the recording environments.
I'm sharing a small wooden desk with Grant Floering as we crash in our friends apartment here in between afternoon and late night recording sessions. He's working hard on scoring the Josh McDowell film "Undaunted," a project I also have been involved in. Unfortunately his computer is much larger and faster than mine and working next to him makes me a little bit less unprofessional. Grant Floering is a professional. I'll include his web link as well.
Lots of exciting things are happening. Writing about them all feels like I'd be jumping from one topic to another so I'm telling my self I'll refrain in a vain hope of writing about them later in more relatable post. But like most vain hopes it is by it's very nature vain and probably won't come to pass.
