Australia. Part One.

Matthew Bouwense and I have spent the past 4 months in Australia doing various things, this short film being one of them. It was for a film festival with an unreasonable deadline, so production suffered some losses when the 2 major filming... no 3 major filming days experience violent rain. The script called for a lot of things that are no longer in the film. The sunset we replaced with a shot of rain, the beginning was replaced with rain, and the whole story and plot was replaced with some abstract pictures of rain. The challenge was to put this film together in a way that made it a competitor in the festival when most of the non-abstract scenes were missing because of rain. The final product, although it differs significantly from the original concept, is something that I can say I'm fairly happy with and not embarrassed to show.
