[Matthew using the legendary, but small Canon HV20]
On March 22, we filmed our first wedding of the 2010 season. Let me start by saying that it may be my favorite wedding I've ever filmed. I would love to go into all the things that made it spectacular and incredible, but I honestly don't have the time and need to spend my time editing to make some tight deadlines coming up in the next few days.
But I would like to say that we got to shoot the wedding alongside a photographer by the name of Tec Petaja, one of my favorite photographers in the world. It was my first time meeting him, and I did not have the heart to tell him that I was a huge fan and visit his website on a weekly basis simply to look at his work, to really look at it. I've already said too much.
Guilt.
The real reason I'm writing is because I wanted to upload some short clips of some of my favorite shots from the wedding shot during the reception on the lawn of Building 50 at the old Traverse City State Hospital. Our old wedding portfolio really does NOT do justice to the type of footage we are shooting this summer with our new equipment and smarter brains, and I'm making a point to upload as much fresh material as I can. I think it's beautiful, and we're making very good use of our 35mm adapter(s) and getting very finicky about exposure. Without further ado, here are some highlights.
Enjoy.
